- Because the flesh will get weak
And the ashes will scatter
Someone said this to me yesterday, after I
talked a little bit blurted out inappropriately confided to him how afraid I am of disappearing while in my current situation.
It makes me cry. I could never tell anyone why, but it does.

November 17, Brooklyn: Accountability and Undoing White Privilege in the Feminist and Reproductive Justice Movements
I think Jasmine’s invitation for the October meeting works for this one as well:
“I want to extend an invitation to all those who are interested in this conversation and taking a critical analysis of not only what we say in the movement but if our actions match what we say in solidarity. This will be an honest and respectful conversation where all in the room will have an opportunity to speak and reflect on privilege and racism and we hope to step away with some actions we can take as individuals and as a collective in addressing this.” ~ Jasmine Burnett, Chair, SisterSong NYC ~
And her words for the one this Thursday:
This meeting will focus on taking some of the comments and statements that came out of the initial meeting and begin building and identifying tools for people to use to be accountable and address it both systemically and individually.
