I smear you on naked toast, devour you, and it only makes me want you more. I want to eat you with a spoon. Your bittersweet taste lingers in the corners of my lips until my tongue trembles into them, chasing even the slightest hint of your presence. When my fingertips are sticky with you, they too find their way into my mouth.
May our passion never end.”

Top, screen capture from the video taped performance Media Burn which was staged at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on July 4, 1975, and was promoted as a spectacle and as a media event. The performance itself consists of Michels and Schreier—dressed as a cross between Evel Knievel and NASA astronauts—driving a customized Cadillac El Dorado (the “Phantom Dream Car”) through a pyramid of burning televisions. [(Sankaku Complex released a vague yet sensationalized article on her which at least translates the interviews where she talks of vaginal shaving/waxing and surgery (both which she has undergone). She illustrates these topics in her manga (Japanese language).]
we were standing there talking when the boy i had a sort of precious things-style relationship with before i hightailed it to a girls’ school approached and handed me an oversize aqua drink. i guess the proffering of a blue whale (vodka, blue curacao liqueur, orange juice, pineapple juice, sweet and sour mix) was a 17-year-old’s way of saying “i heard about what happened and i’m sorry.”
This sends me to the deep scene in At Close Range when Sean Penn, having just introduced himself, offers Mary Stuart Masterson a handful of drugs.
Someone visited me in LA back in the day and remarked on how our little gang, impoverished as we were, were always giving each other things all the time. I hadn’t notices but it was true and it’s one of my loveliest memories of that intense time. It is how seekers connect with one another.
