Duran Duran doing some work on feminist medicating, feminist incarceration, and rock star hysteria here:

They’re obv building not only on their own body of work (“Are modeling agencies basically dating services for musicians?” “We like to think of them that way.”) as well as this statement from  The Cars:

Let’s Go OUT to the Movies…& see Pariah!

crunkfeministcollective:

The film Pariah is a queer coming of age story with a Black girl protagonist. nuff said.

If you need to know more, its beautifully shot and it’s got some of the best performances I’ve seen in a film in a long time!

I’d love to help organize a nationwide OUT at the Movies to make sure the film does well on it’s opening weekend!

If you live in LA/NYC/SF the film comes out 12/28! Those of you in DC/Chi City/Cambridge/Dallas/Seattle ⅙! The rest of us get to see it January 13!

If you’d like to organize a screening or connect with other folks to see it, use this thread and message me and we’ll help get the word out!

It’s so good!

Hit me up if you’re in to spreading the word and/or organizing/attending an outing in your city!

I’m going to see it (in NYC) and would love to talk about doing a screening at the film festival we are planning for the spring and having the filmmakers come and talk. I didn’t see contact info—hit my ask box or sjfilmgrantATgmailDOTcom?

It looks gorge! So excited at the great projects coming in 2012.
