Hi, I am a 25yo queer mixed (white and Latina) cis-woman with a couch available in north oakland (by the MacArthur bart). I live with my sister, a 20yo cis-woman…she’s moving out soon, so I wanted to offer up my couch to a queer or trans kid for a long-term stay…totally free, though it’d be nice if you could do a lil tidying up or something in exchange (i’m kinda disorganized). Please be responsible and easy-going…I am doing this because I was a queer teen runaway who worked really hard to survive, and now that I have a stable life I want to help someone going through what I went through. My apartment’s not much—it’s a one bedroom, and it might be a lil crowded with 3 people until my sister moves out, but coming from NYC i’m used to it. I have one dog(a chihuahua) and one cat. We smoke marijuana, but no hard drugs please. On the ground floor, so possibly wheelchair accessible…there’s one raised step before the door, but it seems like it’d be fairly easy to push a wheelchair over it, and the bathroom is a little small but probably wheelchair doable. If you’re interested, you can email me or leave a note here…my tumblr is crazythatcatches.tumblr.com
And also that if someone had published Lolita as L.O.L.I.T.A, Lessons Of a Lecherous Incestuous Trust-betraying child Abuser AND RAPIST or something and Nabokov shot the person responsible, people would be sticking up for him pretty hardcore.
“We let Willow cut her hair. When you have a little girl, it’s like how can you teach her that you’re in control of her body? If I teach her that I’m in charge of whether or not she can touch her hair, she’s going to replace me with some other man when she goes out in the world. She can’t cut my hair but that’s her hair. She has got to have command of her body. So when she goes out into the world, she’s going out with a command that it is hers. She is used to making those decisions herself. We try to keep giving them those decisions until they can hold the full weight of their lives.””
