mikkipedia reminded me that colman pool exists and so today i took the eleven year old boy i’ve been babysitting to go swimming there because he starts school on wednesday. he has autism so it was a little stressful to do the swim test and they wouldn’t let me take him with me into the women’s locker room (no children of the opposite gender over the age of six allowed) so we had to change in their first aid room where there was a cot and a lot of aloe gel. but once we were changed and cleared to swim, it was so nice! you can float and look up at the pine trees or out at the ocean. it started raining so everyone left but us and maybe two other people and he had the time of his life going down the slide over and over and over again. the co-op i worked at this summer was also in west seattle; i’m a little bit in love.
This is beautiful!!! West Seattle has so many things I love: Colman, Feedback Lounge, Alki Beach, Walker Rock Garden….. thank you for going and posting about it xoxoxoxo

A day when one of your stories gets picked up by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and another one gets you a thank you from Ms. Beverly Johnson is a pretty good day.
