"Even though a lot of crazy things are going on around us, I honestly don’t think it’s been that hard…"
- The smartest celebrity/19 year old boy in the world, Harry Styles (via mazeltovharry)
Louis: Basically the story was…there was a cow. It was making a noise like cows do…
Louis & Niall: Moooooooooo!
Zayn: It sounded like a person!
Louis: Liam being the heroic man that he is and was, decided he would go out there and try to save this “man,” which in fact was a cow. He hopped over the gate to this field and looked around and shouted, “Hello?! Hello?! Does anyone need any help?”
Zayn: I got a stick, wrapped a cloth around it and lit it on fire and went out. I thought I was Indiana Jones running after Liam with it.
Harry: It was like completely dark and Liam was stood on the fence going, “Is anybody out there?! Is anybody out there?!”
Niall: So Liam was going to take on some murderer down in the field and a horse comes running at me in the dark.
Louis: So then we all went back in, sat around the fire for a little bit and then decided to go to sleep. But in fact, quite embarrassingly, even though we were 99% sure it was a cow we didn’t really dare sleep in our own beds. We actually had to sleep on mattresses on the floor next to each other because we had no key for the door and we thought the cow/man [would come in and murder us].
This is the moment.
Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne have always insisted: Directioners are not crazy—and they’re not to be ignored. In interview after interview over the past three years, usually surrounded by thousands of screaming young women, the band has politely corrected reporters who characterize their followers as “insane” or “deranged.” “We prefer ‘passionate,’” they’ll demur. “Or ‘dedicated.’”
There’s more to this than semantics. Possibly you don’t realize how radical it is to see five guys treat young women with respect, and to demand that others do so as well, but it is. In a world where “fangirl” and “groupie” are routinely used to put down women who are enthusiastic about anything, One Direction stands in shocking contrast to their peers and to the culture as a whole.
Women need to make their own spaces as fans in a culture where most media ignores, sexualizes, trivializes, or attacks them—particularly women of color. Women control the budgets of fandom, buying 80% of sports clothing, and nearly 2/3rds of all books; women account for the majority of spending online; women are more likely to share and create online. The majority of fan fiction is written by women, putting ourselves and our stories into the worlds that we love. We change worlds, or try to, so that we can be heard. We scream and cry sometimes when we love things, like loving five guys who listen to us. But we’re not crazy—we’re just excited.”
Reblogging because these great quotes today:
"I think at that age you are passionate about everything. [If] you remember your first girlfriend at school when you’re 13, you convince yourself that you love her. I think looking in, not everyone can understand it but to that girl or that boy it might be the most important thing in the world. Just because you don’t understand it, doesn’t mean you can say it’s crazy."
"They are so dedicated…our fans put us where we are. I don’t think it’s something that should be taken as a negative, I think passion’s good in any form."
I’M SORRY TO GO INTO A MILLION WORD MASTER’S THESIS SHRIEKING FIT BUT I LITERALLY DON’T KNOW WHICH PART ABOUT THIS TO SCREAM ABOUT FIRST!!! HA HA JUST KIDDING IT’S PROBABLY THE PART WHERE HARRY SAYS LOUIS IS A GOOD PERSON TO JUST “SIT AND OBSERVE” BECAUSE SITTING AND OBSERVING LOUIS IS BASICALLY WHAT I DO WITH 100% OF MY TIME, I WISH I COULD GET PAID TO SIT AND OBSERVE HIM BUT REALLY I WOULD PAY MONEY TO SEE HIM IN HIS NATURAL HABITAT, EVERYTHING IS LOUIS TOMLINSON AND NOTHING HURTS, ETC. AND THEN IT JUST GETS WORSE!!! LIAM AND LOUIS USED TO FIGHT AND EVEN IF LIAM HAS TRANSFORMED INTO A WILD FREERANGE DONUT MANIAC NOW HE’S STILL DADDY, HE WILL ALWAYS BE DADDY NO MATTER HOW MUCH HE SHAVES HIS HEAD, EVERYONE CALLS HIM DADDY, I AM NOT INAPPROPRIATELY FASCINATED BY THAT AT ALL, CERTAINLY I HAVE NO VESTED INTEREST IN THE WAY ZAYN SAYS THE WORD “DADDY” WITH HIS MOUTH ABOUT LIAM “I LOVE YOU FOREVER” PAYNE. TOTALLY FINE. ZAYN IS TOO SENSITIVE TO WATCH FISHING BECAUSE HE DOESN’T LIKE TO SEE THEM STRUGGLE!!! ZAYN FACETIMES WITH HIS MOM AND SMILES WITH HIS WHOLE BEAUTIFUL MARBLE STATUE FACE WHILE IT HAPPENS! IT IS DEBILITATING TO REALIZE THAT HE’S A WORK OF ART ON THE INSIDE AS WELL AS THE OUTSIDE! HARRY PLAYS THE HARMONICA AND WAVES HIS HANDS AND JUMPS INTO MARATHONS AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK HE IS, HE IS THE MOST PRECIOUS STRANGEST CHARMINGEST RARE BIRD FROM PLANET BEAUTIFUL WEIRDO AND NO ONE CAN GET ENOUGH OF HIM. IT’S SCIENCE. THERE IS AN ALLOTMENT OF ABSORBING HARRY STYLES’ BEAUTIFUL MYSTERIOUS WEIRDNESS THAT EVERY HUMAN MUST REACH EACH DAY OR ELSE BE FACED WITH BONE-CRUSHING POINTLESSNESS. AND THEN NIALL! LOVES! EVERYTHING! NIALL IS THE EMBODIMENT OF EVERYTHING I LOVE ABOUT THIS BAND, WHICH IS HOW STUPID FUN IT IS TO JUST LOVE THINGS WITH YOUR WHOLE DUMB BODY AND YOUR WHOLE WEIRD BEAUTIFUL SOUL. I WISH THIS HAD BEEN THE WHOLE MOVIE, I WISH THEY HAD MADE THREE FULL LENGTH MOVIES OF ONLY FOOTAGE OF THESE FIVE WONDERFUL DONUTS DONUTTING AROUND, BEING A BEAUTIFUL DINGUS SOLAR SYSTEM THAT IS AT ONCE SELF-CONTAINED AND FULLY SUSTAINABLE FROM THE SHEER FORCE OF THEIR LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER AND YET ALSO BIG ENOUGH TO ENVELOP ALL THEIR FANS WHO LOVE THEM LOUDLY AND AGGRESSIVELY THE SAME WAY THEY LOVE EACH OTHER AND THEY LOVE LIFE AND THEY LOVE US. LOVING THINGS IS AMAZING. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. MY BONES HURT WITH HOW AWESOME IT IS TO FULL-BODY LOVE STUFF AND I HOPE EVERYONE ELSE’S DOES TOO BECAUSE WHAT’S EVEN THE POINT, OTHERWISE, IF YOUR BODY ISN’T COLLAPSING UNDER THE WEIGHT OF DUMB STUPID JOY FROM WHATEVER IT IS THAT GIVES IT TO YOU? WHAT IS THE POINT?
