Farm above Pt. Vicente. Most of the farms were run by Japanese Americans who were imprisoned ("interned") during the war and lost their land. I remember a couple of my friends crying in 8th grade when we learned about it in history class—they werent learning because it was their families.
PV history covers so many racisms—the Spaniards killing the indigeneous people and taking the land, the whites taking it from the Spaniards, the internment of the Japanese, the laws keeping out Jews and blacks. It’s horrific, in such a beautiful, beautiful place.
