"I knew you’d be upset" is going to be retired soon, because the cycle is over the circle is complete. When it was said it was such a focusing moment for me. I knew this person was a liar, but it’s pretty next-level gross for someone to use my feelings as a reason for lying. She didn’t have enough respect for my feelings to not do it. But oh, so deep and giving and empathetic enough to lie. Because she knew I’d be upset!

It is time to leave here; all is well. There is nothing here for you now, You must be gone  Go now, go ~ complete your passing, Go, and with our blessing fare well. Farewell. With this I purify you of the past Of hurt and memories Keeping only Love.

I’ve been reading about why people lie, for reasons, and, as I kind of suspected, it seems like they do it mostly because they think they won’t be believed if they tell the truth. Makes it sadder, but still not ok. And of course there is also the “I knew you’d be upset” school of thought.

“People in Northern California think Southern California is the enemy in a pitched battle of good and evil for supremacy over all that matters in the world, and people in Southern California think Northern California is a nice place to go for the weekend.”

I am often reminded of this lately.

Does it count as hate reading if it’s more like you are marveling at someone’s total fucking narcissistic delusions? It’s not nice, but is it hate?

I would not remove their delusions, I think they have constructed a life where they need the delusions to survive and not face reality. Reality is not that bad, but they don’t STAR in reality like they do in their delusions. No one points out the lies in their delusions. There is no accountability in delusions. I should ignore the delusions. But they just keep going.

basically never trust anyone who whines constantly about the people who have "cut them off" for "no reason" and makes said people out to be heartless jerks, etc

missvoltairine:

speaking as someone who has cut people out of their life

it’s not an easy thing to do, and people don’t generally do that sort of thing without a good reason.

nobody is entitled to be a part of someone else’s life. Find anyone who expresses a sense of entitlement like that to be highly suspect, because this is evidence that they may not have very good boundaries and may be in denial about the effects of their behavior.

I just deleted a long post but I think I will just bold the above, and let the phrase “I knew you’d be upset” hang in the air a bit.
